BMW Service & Repair

BMW is also known as Bavarian Motor Works in the English speaking countries. BMW was founded in 1916 by the German industrialist known as Karl Rapp. The origins of the BMW logo is often shrouded in mystery and often mistakenly said to be a spinning aircraft propeller cutting through the blue sky. The BMW logo’s origins are actually a stylized version of the blue and white markings of the Bavarian flag. BMW cars became available in the United States in 1956 and they opened their first production facility in the United States in 1994. BMW has multiple production facilities throughout Germany and the world.

The special BMW M division was founded in 1972 to bring BMW into the competitive motorsports arena. M-badged vehicles typically have higher output engines, improved transmissions, better performing suspension, improved braking and more aggressive styling compared to their non M-badged counterparts. All M-badged cars are also put their paces at BMW’s private facility at the world famous Nürburgring track. The McLaren F1 is powered by a 6.1L DOHC V-12 supplied by BMW.
